The sand dunes of Moreton Island. Formed by sand that caught & built up behind rocks. In a process that began at least 500,000 years ago. Highest dune in the world – 280 meters above sea level

Renowned for it’s friendly & interactive dolphins,
attracting marine biologists globally.
Water clarity around parts of the island are so exceptional,
that the endangered dugong can be found grazing close to the shore lines.
These stunning waters host 6 of the worlds 7 species of turtles.
Wildlife species within the island include the silver gull, pelicans, pied oyster catcher, white ibis & the crested tern.
Home to the bandicoot, a few species of bats & gliders.
